The historical impact of the Haitian Revolution allowed the U.S to Purchase Louisiana. If you research this you will see that when France lost Haiti they pretty much lost their money maker. The Louisiana territory which they still owned was then viewed as dead weight, and since France needed money for their renewed war with England Napoleon sold Louisiana on April 30, 1803 to the US for less than 4cents an acre. Public school wont tell you this.
